Regional Vice President, Ventilation (West)

The Western Regional Vice President, Ventilation drives sales growth and market expansion for Nihon Kohden’s ventilation business within the assigned region. This leader develops and executes regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives to achieve revenue and market share targets. The RVP leads, coaches, and develops the regional sales team, ensuring disciplined execution of sales plans and superior customer engagement. The role fosters strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and with NK OrangeMed, our ventilator supplier, to align product strategy and market needs. Key responsibilities include overseeing account development, strengthening relationships with customers and trade partners, and ensuring professional business practices that support both customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Essential Functions and Main Duties

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies that align with national ventilation business objectives.
  • Partner with SVP of Sales/Marketing, National Sales Leader, and Operations to implement integrated business plans, financial objectives, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor forecasts and pipeline in Salesforce/CRM to ensure accuracy and support effective inventory and resource planning.
  • Direct and manage all regional sales activities to achieve revenue, profit, and market share goals.
  • Oversee account development and service; ensure existing accounts are maintained while driving new business opportunities.
  • Lead sales presentations and cultivate executive-level and KOL customer relationships.
  • Coordinate clinical, technical, and sales support to deliver effective customer solutions.
  • Represent the Company at regional and national conventions, meetings, and industry events.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for the sales force, including Account Executives.
  • Build and sustain long-term customer partnerships by identifying and addressing immediate and future needs.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitive activity; develop strategies to capture opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Manage regional sales budgets and expenses in line with operating plans and profitability goals.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, forecasts, and business plans; maintain communication with senior leadership.
  • Ensure regional sales functions are coordinated with other departments to optimize execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote and protect the Company’s professional reputation through consistent, high-quality customer interactions.
  • Select, manage, develop, and hold accountable team members to meet department deliverables and responsibilities. Complete company people management requirements. Exhibit manager competencies.

Qualifications

Education / Certification / Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related discipline; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations required; Valid, unrestricted respiratory therapy license issued within the United States; Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in ventilation critical care medical device sales to hospitals and GPOs
  • 5+ years of experience of people management experience, including driving results through others, leading teams or projects, and providing training
  • Experience with ventilation clinical evaluations, education, and sales training.
  • Strong knowledge of the US ventilation business, KOL’s and competitive market knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of technology including trends, opportunities, and products
  • Strong understanding of SFDC and Forecasting

Compensation

Your Total Target Compensation (TTC) is composed of a $140,000-$150,000 base salary range plus incentives for achieving defined business goals including commission, bonus, business objectives, or combination thereof.

Working Conditions

Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.

Physical: Generally, may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested. Reasonable accommodation may be requested by contacting Human Resources.

Travel: Approximately 80%

Access to Customer Sites: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including for COVID), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company.
