Material Handler (Temp)

Department: Warehouse
Location: Irvine, CA

The Material Handler facilitates timely and accurate shipment of products to customers. Also responsible for receipt of goods and products for warehousing or delivery to other departments within the company.

Essential Functions and Main Duties

  • Pulls/Audit material issues related to customer sales orders and/or Capital Equipment orders.
  • Ships product out in accordance with sales order requests, ensuring shipments are complete and correct.
  • Identifies, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems or delays.
  • Processes materials received; checks, verifies and tags materials.
  • Checks receipts for proper quantities and item numbers. Rejects damaged goods and refers problems accordingly.
  • Enters receiving information into the computer and forwards necessary information to area personnel.
  • Process Product Returns.
  • Conduct Cycle Count Inventories of materials and finished goods. Ensures that all goods are appropriately packaged and labeled before storage.
  • Restocks shelves as needed.
  • Process receiving activities related to warranty repair RMA’s, Customer Owned Equipment, and Mfg/Repair/Rework suppliers.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.

Qualifications

Education / Certification / Experience Required

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory management and logistics
  • Shipping and receiving experience preferred
  • Federal Express and UPS experience preferred
  • Forklift certified preferred
  • Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills

Competencies Required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, and to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

Compensation

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions

Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are between 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.

Physical: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and color vision. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
