Clinical Application Specialist, Neurology (IONM)

The Neurology Clinical Applications Specialist (NCAS) is responsible for providing professional Clinical Applications Installation, Training, and customer support. Interfacing with but not limited to NK Sales, Clinical Specialist, Marketing, Service, Support, IT, Project Managers, and Implementation Coordinators to effectively implement Nihon Kohden Systems into customer sites. This may include pre- and post-sales support. Managing time wisely and efficiently and accomplish assignments in established timeframes. The NCAS presents a professional image with above-average customer service skills.

Essential Functions and Main Duties

  • Customer pre-on-site preparations
  • On-site responsibilities such as, vendor credentialing kiosk, cart building, software configuration, training, service report documentation, and ensuring customers are comfortable with the system upon departure
  • Assembling of our medical devices
  • Provide training in the OR
  • Conducting follow up and support calls
  • Maintaining Educational Competency
  • Using remote desktop software is required to train and troubleshoot applications
  • Must complete all company training documents
  • Remain clinically knowledgeable and competent for maintaining licensure
  • Complete ongoing application training and competency testing
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.

Qualifications

Education / Certification / Experience Required

  • Associate degree in science or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in IONM, EP, CLTM, NCS, EEG, or PSG.
  • Must be a professionally credentialed CNIM and highly desirable to be registered in one or more of the following: PSG, EEG, EP, CLTM, CAP, NCV
  • Must be able to perform IONM and one or more of the following modalities: Electroencephalography (EEG), Polysomnography (PSG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conductions (NCS).
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.

Competencies Required

  • Able to read, analyze and interpret equipment manuals, general business periodicals or professional journals
  • Able to write reports and business correspondence; the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
  • Able to effectively use technology to present information to customers
  • Working knowledge of Windows PC’s and proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Basic PC Core Harward components
  • PC Storage and Peripherals
  • Understanding Basic Networking (IP Schemes) and terms
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, and to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000. Actual salary is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions

Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are dependent on the customer’s schedule and the scope of the project. Provide after-hour support calls on a 6-week rotation and daytime escalation IONM calls when available. The work week is Monday – Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required.

Physical: Requires some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 25 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and color vision. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.

Travel: Approximately 90% domestically and limited international travel.

Access to Customer Sites: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including COVID-19), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company.
