Clinical Nursing Innovation Lead

The Clinical Nursing Innovation Lead is responsible for providing clinical guidance for early-stage medical device research and supporting all phases of clinical trials for Nihon Kohden research portfolio addressing acute and chronic diseases.

Target salary is $100,000 or above, depending on years of experience and expertise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAIN DUTIES

  • Responsible as an Innovation team member to provide clinical feedback during early investigations and prototype iterations.
  • Responsible for the identification and multi-level engagement of key opinion leaders and stakeholders including both inside and outside of NK.
  • Responsible for overseeing potential product-based clinical research and co-operatively plan, create, and implement protocol writing, site exploration, IRB submissions, training, deployment, monitoring.
  • Analyze user experience (UX) to feed back into prototype designs and usability testing.
  • Perform systematic literature reviews, synthesize relevant data, and contribute to NK’s clinical research study publication.
  • Prepare study progress reports and presentations, conference abstracts, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Provide leadership and direction for project teams including various advisory boards, planning teams, and other project-based interprofessional groups.
  • Support clinicaltrials.gov entries for NK’s U.S. clinical trials.
  • Support regulatory investigations (e.g., FDA pre-submissions).
  • Facilitate effective teamwork and communication between interprofessional program partners and participants.
  • Coordinate work of consultants as needed.
  • Ensure that goals and objectives are achieved and completed according to established timelines and target dates.
  • Responsible for remaining clinically knowledgeable and competent and for maintaining an active nursing licensure.
  • Responsible to manage time wisely and efficiently and to accomplish assignments within established timeframes.
  • Responsible for submitting required documentation within designated timeframe.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Certification / Experience Required:

  • Master’s or post-graduate degree from a CNS program (CCNE, ACEN).
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted nursing license issued within the United States.
  • 5+ years direct patient care experience in hospital ICU, ED, OR and/or Ward units.

  • Current clinical practice knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of clinical use models in a variety of clinical settings
  • Experience in adopting clinical protocol guidelines
  • Experience with gathering clinical unit quality metrics
  • Exposure to compliance (e.g., Joint Commission) verification and reporting
  • Previous experience in educating nurses and/or developing education materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively with large, inter-program, international teams and stakeholders including marketing, business development, R&D, advisors, and consultants
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding project management, organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to travel to visit research sites and attend professional conferences
  • Must be self-motivated and able to be managed remotely if required
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

SCHEDULE: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.

PHYSICAL: Generally, may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 25 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.

TRAVEL: This is an in-office position with some accommodation for occasional work at home; 15-20% domestic and international travel

ACCESS to CUSTOMER SITES: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including for COVID-19), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company.
